Terrorism Does Not Have Any Religion

It has become a routine to turn on the TV and find some incident of terrorism, browse internet and find some headlines related to terrorism or open up a newspaper and find articles about terrorism attacks. All this while, when we hope desperately to have a peaceful world, it seems like circumstances are simply getting worse day by day.
Being a human being, it pierces my heart when a glimpse of terror-oriented incident flashes in of my eyes, when some suicide attack takes place killing dozens of innocent people, and when innocent people cry over the dead bodies of their beloved ones. No major steps have yet been discovered or proposed that can provide fruitful outcomes in putting a stop to these terrorism activities.
All over the world, it can be seen that these activities are only increasing in number and hence the death toll rises as well. This is not any fight in politics, nor is it a fight in a region; this is nothing less than a global issue.
One major issue which has derived from terrorism issue is the religion! People consider that terrorism actions are a result to a teaching by some Muslim extremists, hence Islam is the religion of terrorism. This is a totally false concept which has been portrayed to the world. Terrorism does not have any religion, and for sure Islam is not the religion which teaches all these things. I am not saying this because I am a Muslim. I surely am a Muslim and I can certify this as no one knows a religion better than the person who follows that religion.
There is no valid reason for terrorizing people! Why can’t people think that even the Muslims are being targeted as a result of terrorism attacks? Islam is a religion of peace and just like any other religion, it deserves respect and value. These terrorists are not Muslims, they can never be Muslims. If someone does not follow a religion, then how can he consider himself as being part of that religion? One of the basics of the Islam is to be kind to human beings, regardless of religion, race, color and gender. Islam strongly condemns hurting innocent people, let alone talk about killing them.
The purpose of writing this article is to convey thoughts of a simple Muslim girl, without going into more details that people will stop reading this article. I hope from heart that one day, every person will realize this fact and will look up to Islam as a pure religion, instead of calling it a terrorism-religion! Muslims are as equally against these activities as anyone else.

I agree! Terrorism transcends the boundaries of religion as we can see terrorists belonging to all cultures and religions with their own set of agendas like the Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka, Maoists in India.
I think western media has a lot to do in stereotyping Islam as an extremist and violent religion. Islam was never spread by the sword and such tactics find no support in our Holy books. Instead their are commandments like 'Killing one person is like killing the whole humanity.'

@Seneca....Thanks for shadowing further on this topic. Every country is facing some sorta crisis, whether in form of economical crisis or terrorism. You are absolutely right that Islam is being portrayed in a wrong manner by western media.

A very good hub. The terrorists cannot be muslim or they would not bomb innocent people or mosques. All these things are forbidden to muslims. Anyone with any intelligence should see that this is proof that they have no religion. They do not believe in God. They believe in power and money and that is all.

I don't want to spoil the mood here but I believe your readers should have another perspective too.

So, I think we need to address the underlying issues which is compelling people to choose a violent path. Discriminatory policies and hegemonic designs of world powers or power (since we are living in a unipolar world) is causing havoc. West should rethink its policies of feeding on Muslim blood and oil.
Interesting hub Ayesha we all know that Islam is not a religion of terrorism but religion of peace and love and hopefully west too understand it soon.

I understand that Islam is not a religion of terrorism. But it is unfortunate that many of the terrorists are muslims (at least the name confirms that). The question is why does such extremism is coming up only from these people.
As you said, ppl who would follow the religion would know about it better. Wanted to know your opinion on it.
If they are ppl who teach this extremism, why cant the remaining of community stop them. If I look at Pak, why the goverment in failing to stop the militant groups.

Beautiful hub Ayesha. As an American I can tell you that there are many Christian terrorists. It is just easier to demonize someone who looks different and has a different religion.
